Big Changes Brewing at Salmon Creek Brewpub

The owners of the Salmon Creek Brewpub, Larry and Ana Pratt, are retiring and have sold the business. Since 1994 the Salmon Creek Brewpub has been dutifully serving the residents of Vancouver, WA a selection of Larry’s handcrafted beers accompanied with great food. All the while, Ana was waiting to greet you as you came through the front door. It was recently announced that the brewpub has been sold to David and Arlene Nunez, the owners of By the Bottle - the bottleshop right next door.
It’s hard not to be sad. Larry and Ana Pratt are wonderfully warm people and exemplify all that is best about the Northwest craft beer scene. Then again, it is good to know that Salmon Creek is being turned over to friends and the tradition will continue. David and Arlene Nunez have been friends with the Pratt’s for more than a decade.
In a report in the Columbian David Nunez said, “There were other people interested. Some wanted to turn it into a wine bar or a sports bar or close the kitchen. But it’s our last real downtown brewpub. I thought, ‘You know what? I’m not going to let this die.’”
Cheers to that.
The keys to the brewhouse are being turned over to Tom Munoz. A veteran of the local beer scene, Tom has worked for the likes of Pyramid, Redhook, Silver City Brewery and a couple of now-defunct breweries around the Seattle area.
