Diamond Knot MLT Grand Opening
- by Kendall Jones, Washington Beer Blog -
Diamond Knot Brewing recently announced the grand opening of the new Brewpub at Mountlake Terrace. Truth is, they’ve been quietly open for a couple weeks, but now they’re ready to announce the official christening of the new brewpub: Saturday, February 8 at 1:00 p.m.
We were there a couple weeks ago for the maiden voyage and have some pictures below. The first thing you’ll notice, the space is large. Huge, actually. In addition to regular restaurant seating (all ages), there is also a bar area reserved for grownups. The main dining room has a glass wall behind which you will see the beautiful new 10-barrel brewing system. There is also separate, large seating area that can be closed off for private events.
In the bar, take notice of the bartop which was fashioned using wood salvaged from a frieghter that wrecked off the Washington coast more than 90 years ago. A row of 16 taps are fed by tanks in the cold room immediately behind the bar. Fourteen of the taps will pour DK beers, two of the taps will pour cider, and they even serve cocktails. You know, if you’re into that sort of thing.
For Diamond Knot veterans, the menu will seem familiar. Sandwiches, salads and the grillstone entres to which you are accustomed. And speaking of food, when you visit plan a few extra minutes to spend next door at Double D Meats. Trust me, it’s more than a butcher shop.
