Harvest Dinner with Brave Horse Tavern, Black Raven Brewing

- by Kendall Jones, Washington Beer Blog -

Brave_horse_harvest2014The bad news is, the days are growing shorter, the nights are getting cold, and it is clear that summer is winding to its end; however, there is some good news. It is time for the Brave Horse Tavern’s Third Annual Harvest Dinner with Black Raven Brewing. Tickets are on sale for the event on Thursday, September 18.

The seven-course meal features eight different beers from Black Raven Brewing, including five beers brewed specifically for the event. The food menu (below) sounds predictably amazing, featuring farm-fresh produce from the Tom Douglas company farm in Prosser, along with equally fresh produce from another one of Tom’s favorite farms, Newaukum Valley Farm (near Chehalis).

Usually, beer dinners are built when a chef conceives of the dishes and then determine which beer to pair with which dish. This one is a bit different. It was more of a collaborative effort, as the menu shows.
