WASHINGTON BEER COMMISSION
2011 MEETING SCHEDULE
The Washington Beer Commission meets at 5:30 PM on the second Tuesday of every other month. Meetings are open to the general public. Brewers, brewery owners, and any individuals interested in the business of the Commission are invited to join us at the following meetings in 2011:
January 11 : Fremont Brewing, Seattle, WA
March 8 : Elysian Fields
May 10 : Redhook
July 12 : Fremont
September 13 : Schooner EXACT
November 8 : Three Skulls (at Pillagers Pub)
In addition to our bi-monthly meetings, a number of sub-committees meet to work on various projects endorsed by the Commission. Members of the brewing community are encouraged to get involved in helping to execute the Commission's mission by serving on a sub-committee. Feel free to CONTACT us if you have any questions about current sub-committee work or are interested in volunteering your time.
WASHINGTON BREWERS GUILD
Following the close of Commission meetings, the Washington Brewers Guild holds its bi-monthly meeting, starting at 7:00 PM. These meetings generally have an educational component and are of particular interest to head brewers, assistant brewers, and brewery owners alike. Past programs have included malt analysis workshops; Q & A with a Washington State Liquor Control Board Field Agent; sensory evaluation seminars; and legislative updates from the Guild's lobbyist in Olympia.
Generally the host brewery arranges for light appaetizers and refreshments to be served during the break between meetings. The atmosphere is casual and first-timers are always welcome to attend.
These gatherings are a great opportunity to make new contacts with peers in the local brewing industry as well as a time to catch up with old friends.
