Geaux Brewing celebrates its 1st Anniversary with a party at the brewery on Saturday, October 11th. I assume that by now everyone understands that Geaux is pronounced go. Beyond teaching us a little bit about French orthography, Geaux Brewing has accomplished a lot in one year. They've brewed some fantastic beers and built a loyal audience, especially at the brewery's taproom on Northup Way in Bellevue, which is usually the only place you can drink the beer.

Geaux recently upgraded to a new, larger brewing system. As I understand it, that means you may start to see the beers out an about at local bars more often. Until recently, Geaux Brewing had to brew a batch of beer every day, and that was (for the most part) just to keep up with demand at the taproom.

"Things are finally settling down here as we start brewing with the new rig," said Jeremy Hubbell, the owner. "It's nice not to have to brew every day."

The anniversary party will also serve as the unveiling of the new, expanded taproom. One of the area's most popular food trucks, Where Y’at Matt, will be serving up Louisiana-inspired food during the party.

They'll have nine different beers on tap, including a barrel-aged scotch ale, vanilla mint chai-infused Satchmo (Imperial Oatmeal Stout), Sax (IIPA), Ragin’ Cajun (IIPA), fresh hop IPAs, along with their regular offerings, like the Treme IPA, which is one of my personal favorites.
