Silver City Restaurant & Brewery

September 29, 2014 - 12:05 PM
Scott and Steve Houmes have been restaurateurs in Kitsap County since 1990. At some point, the two brothers hatched the idea of opening the area’s first real brewpub. To complement their experience operating restaurants, they enlisted the help of Don Spencer (aka Big Daddy), who was a decorated homebrewer and also spent time brewing at Thomas Kemper Brewing before that proud brewery was reduced to a brand of soda pop.

Silver City Restaurant and Brewery was born in 1996. In 2010, they moved the brewery offsite and now the brewery is in Bremerton, but the restaurant still serves up a complete selection of beers from this award-winning brewery.  Also, there is a taproom at the brewery itself.

The full-service restaurant is located at the Kitsap Mall in Silverdale. It is not part of the mall, but occupies a freestanding building in the mall’s parking lot.

The Taproom at the brewery offers all of Silver City Brewing’s annual line-up, seasonal, specialty brews, small batch, barrel aged, and experimental beers to sample by the taster or the pint. Also, bottles and growlers to go.
