An Interview with Andy Lapworth at Valley House Brewing
January 19, 2018 - 9:00 AM
- by Kendall Jones, Washington Beer Blog -We stopped by Valley House Brewing in Duvall, Washington the other day to chat with Andy Lapworth, the owner/brewer. Below we share audio from that conversation (listen or download). The taproom is open now, but the official grand opening has now been scheduled. What does that mean? Read on or listen to the interview.
Valley House Brewing opened its taproom in Duvall a couple months ago, serving a selection of beer from local breweries alongside a couple of Valley House's own beers. Although the house beers were Andy's own creations, they were not actually brewed on site. To get the taproom's doors opened, he brewed some beer at nearby breweries, like Black Raven Brewing and Triplehorn Brewing. In the meantime, Andy was building the brewery and, more recently, brewing beer.

On Saturday, February 10th, Valley House Brewing will host a grand opening party. At the party, you can taste some of the beers Andy Lapworth has been brewing at the new brewery. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for more details about the grand opening party. Valley House Brewing is located at 16111 Main Street NE, Duvall, WA 98019. map
On January 13th, we stopped by the new brewery and taproom to have a chat with Andy. We recorded it for your listening pleasure. In part one we discuss Andy's brewing pedigree and experience (employee #1 at Black Raven Brewing) along with some info about the beers he's currently fermenting. In part two, we discuss his plans for the brewery's future, estate-grown barley, and other fun stuff like that.
