Beer Camp is a massive collaborative brewing project organized by Sierra Nevada Brewing that involves a dozen different breweries. This year the theme was Beer Camp Across the World. (Last year it was Beer Camp Across America). Beer Camp is also a big, multi-city beer festival where you can sample hundreds of beers from regional and not-so-regional breweries. Tickets for the Seattle event are on sale now. The festival is at Gasworks Park on Friday, June 30th (6:00 - 10:00). Along with the beer, live music and food trucks.
This year Sierra Nevada teamed up with a dozen breweries from around the globe to create the Beer Camp collection of beers. The beers are available in 12-packs (mix packs) and will be poured at the Beer Camp Festivals alongside dozen and dozens of other beers. Breweries involved in the collaborations included the likes of Fuller's Brewery (England), Ayinger Brewery (Germany), Mikkeller Brewery (Denmark), Saint Arnold Brewing (Texas), Surly Brewing (Minnesota), and others.
Away from the festivals, select bars around the area are getting a taste of the Beer Camp beers. Keep an eye out for them at better beer bars around the area. Beveridge Place Pub hosted a Beer Camp event last week and as of Saturday (June 10) some of the beers remained on tap. Tonight (June 12), Latona Pub will tap into a few of them as well.
For the Seattle Beer Camp event, most of the breweries involved are names you recognize. Many local breweries will participate, but also some less local, out of state breweries like Bearlic Beer (Portland), Alesong Brewing and Blending (Eugene), Baranof Island Brewing (Sitka, AK) and Ordnance Brewing (Boardman, OR).
Other Beer Camp festival locations include San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, Austin, Raleigh, and others. For complete details about Beer Camp, visit the website.
