On May 16th, Pike Brewing invites you to join in a celebration of Rose Ann Finkel's life

In June of 2020, the world lost a shining light. Rose Ann Finkel was not only a pioneer in the world of beer and food, but she was one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. When she passed, it was mid-pandemic and a proper celebration of her life was not possible. Now it is.

On Monday, May 16th the public is invited to the Pike Brewery and Pub in downtown Seattle as the local beer and brewing industry pays tribute to Rose Ann.

Here's a very high-altitude view of her contribution to the business of beer that barely touches on all she did. Rose Ann was a trailblazer in the world of fine food, wine, and beer importing even before she co-founded Merchant du Vin, an import company that still thrives today. Merchant du Vin brought many Belgian and independent English and German beers to the U.S. for the first time, such as Ayinger, Orval, and Samuel Smith to name just a few.

In 1989, Rose Ann and her husband, Charles Finkel, founded Pike Brewing. Much more than all of that, Rose Ann was an advocate for racial justice, civil rights, and women's rights. She was a community builder and a thought leader.

The celebration on May 16th is a first-come, first-served event, one that promises to attract a lot of the local beer community. And rightly so! There are a lot of people in this town that loved and respected Rose Ann.
