Reuben’s Brews

Adam Robbings, the owner and brewermaster at Reuben’s Brews, has successfully graduated from a home brewing system to a five-barrel brewhouse that fills 12-barrel fermenters. He made the move seamlessly and it didn’t take long for Reuben’s Brews to start bringing home medals for its outstanding beer.

Reuben’s Brews opened in the summer of 2012 and quickly became one of Ballard’s most popular beer destinations. The tasting room doubles as the brewery. Pretty much everything you see is convertible and the room easily transforms from a brewing space into a drinking space and vice versa. Garage doors open to the street, with the entrance on the side of the building. When the weather permits, there is some patio seating out front. They don’t serve food, but there is often a food truck parked out front.

A few years ago, Adam’s wife bought him a homebrew kit. At about the same time, the couple had a baby and named him Reuben. When they decided to open a brewery, it was easy to find a name.
