Is it on your bucket list? If you love beer, an adventure in Belgium should be. Beyond the liquid goodness, in Belgium the beer is part of an old-world lifestyle that is attractive in itself.

In size, Belgium measures about half the size of Western Washington. In beer, Belgium offers more than 170 breweries producing countless variations of traditional beer styles. These are world-renowned beers, dutifully crafted in abbeys, on rustic farms, and at breweries of all shapes and sizes. A beer tour of Belgium is as much about learning to appreciate the Burgundian lifestyle as it is learning to appreciate the beer. Slow down and enjoy life as expressed through good beer, good food, and extravagant spectacle.

Today I am going to tell you about two different opportunities to win a beer adventure in Belgium.

Affligem and Draft Magazine

DRAFT magazine, Affligem Brewery and Visit Flanders are giving away a trip for two to Belgium. Learn the proper way to pour an Affligem Blond and enter to win. (It’s a good thing to know.) To enter you just need to complete a simple form that requires you to answer a simple question: “Name one of the three things you can do with the last 10 percent of the beer in an Affligem Blond bottle?” The very short video shows you the proper way to pour the beer and enlightens you as to the options for the yeasty remains: drink it, add it to the beer, or set it aside. To enter, watch the video below, complete the entry form, and answer the question.

One person will win the trip to Belgium and another 200 will receive an Affligem pouring tray (including glassware), as pictured above.

The Tap House Grill, Seattle and Bellevue

August 26 through September 1, Tap House Grill in Seattle and Bellevue celebrates its tenth anniversary with great events and lots of give-aways. Among the prizes, one lucky person will win the grand prize: a trip for two to Belgium. To enter you simply need to visit the Tap House Grill during IPA Week: August 16 through 26.

Get it straight, visit the Tap House during IPA Week to enter and then win stuff during the anniversary week (the following week). Wow, that’s rough. Visit during IPA week and get a chance to win a trip to Belgium. Twist my arm.

The trip includes airfare plus a four-night stay at The Courtyard by Marriott Brussels Hotel. What’s more, you will visit the Timmerman’s and Duvel breweries. Both breweries will include a brewery tour, meal and tasting.
